With a catchy name and a devotional message, there comes an even more symbolic meaning behind the lights–the ability of two completely different people to believe that they can work together to make a change in the lives of someone who brought so much change into their very own lives–their Mothers. It all started when two lighthearted entrepreneurs from unique backgrounds, and not to mention age, came up with a meaningful idea. 23 year old African-American college student, Hassan Bundu-Kamara and 59 year old Filipino-American scientist, Manuel Bernardo knew that they were onto something but didn’t realize their idea would turn into something much more remarkable. Hassan’s Mother presently suffers from breast cancer. Manuel’s 92 year old frail Mother is under 24/7 care for her medical conditions. They both knew that they needed to do something to help their ailing parents but weren’t quite sure what that thing was. With motivation in hand, faith by their side, and their God-given talents they believed that they could make a difference in the lives of their families and the people around them by venturing together into the promise of a Renewed America–The Renewed America that we all can firmly believe in by the actions, the courage and the change that shall be brought about in this great nation through our cooperation with and faith in President-Elect Barack Obama.
